NRV 911 provides 9-1-1 dispatch and emergency communications services for: Montgomery County, the Towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg, and Virginia Tech.
Our service area covers more than 393 square miles and serves a population of more than 100,000 residents.
NRV 911 coordinates police, fire, and EMS response across this region from our dispatch center in Christiansburg’s Public Safety Building.

The regional center is the first point of contact the public has when reporting emergency and non-emergency requests for service. Calls are answered by dedicated and trained staff, with specialized skills and certifications, who dispatch the appropriate resources based on pertinent information gathered during the call processing phase.
